Fans can run clubs? "Yes", says Lord Triesman - plus Pitch Invasion special on fan ownership.

Lord Triesman, Chairman of The FA, has come out in favour of supporter-ownership - reported widely in the media on Monday.

Acknowledging the potential of supporters being in charge similarly to Barcelona could work, he said to the Daily Mail: "There are some good fan-run clubs and there have been in England too - there have been some clubs in difficulties where the fans have been the decisive factor such as York City and Bournemouth."

Another vote of confidence on the day that City Fans United embark on the journey to reform following Chester City's liquidation today.

Tom Dunmore's popular Pitch Invasion blog covers some of the stories of fan ownership - head over to his site for more.
