Dec 2008 Board Meeting

Monday 15th December 2008, 13.30 - 18.00, The Terraces, Victoria House   

PRESENT: Rob Bradley (RB), Simon Cope (SC), Elaine Dean (ED), Stuart Duncan (SSD), Yvonne Fletcher (YF), Sean Hamil (SH), Joe Hill (JH), Brian Lomax (BL -Chair), Neil Le Milliere (NLM), Steve Powell, (SP), Tony Taylor (TT), Ian Todd (IT)

IN ATTENDANCE: Dave Boyle (DB - Chief Executive), Bob Booker (BB - Representative from the Football Foundation) , Bruce Burford (BT - Treasurer), Malcolm Clarke (MC - FSF Chair), Kevin Jaquiss (KJ - Temporary Secretary), Laura Knewstub (LK - Minute Secretary)

Apologies for absence: Kris Stewart (KS)

Appointment of Officers

Chair - BL elected unopposed.

Vice-Chairs - RB and TT were elected

Secretary - Clare Oakley from the Co-op Group was appointed. KJ was thanked for his support and assistance during his period as temporary Secretary.


Sub-committees and skills audit

Constitutional Sub-Committee:  ED, NLM and KS

EMPLOYMENT SUB-COMMITTEE: BL (Chair), BT, DB, SSD, SH (reserves YF and SP).

The Community Sub-Committee was laid down. TT would conduct a skills audit of the Board

Financial - DB reported that a new finance administrator had been appointed.

Budgets 2008-10 - Revised budgets were approved the reduction of the Scottish Management Recharge and magazine contribution.

SD Database - SD would develop a internal database to help mange contact information and contact with trusts.

Conversion to a charity - A paper addressing key issues would be produced by Cobbetts before the board could make a final decision.

Conference 2009 - The 2009 event would a one-day event as per previous years, but future years would be discussed at the awayday.

Europe - SD will be working more closely with the FSI and will submit joint bids with them for funding from the EU; UEFA were very supportive of this approach.

The board then received a report From Malcolm Clarke on the FA Council.
