Headline Achievements

  • The study - What is the feasibility of a SD Europe? - found that there is a demand for services similar to those provided by SD in the UK; and that a SD Europe could enhance the contribution fans make to the wider agenda of ensuring that clubs are financially stable, by ensuring they conform to good governance.
  • The exceptional growth in the number of groups across Europe that we are supporting has led to a huge increase in demand for our services. Due to the current financial climate and the (potential) implication for football clubs across Europe we expect the network to grow even further.
  • SD Europe is currently helping supporters groups in 13 countries including Italy, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Israel.
  •  Many of these club-based and national groups are concerned with becoming formally involved in the governance, ownership or management of their clubs and it is here that specific demand exists for advice tailored to these groups, building a repository of information and expertise.
  • The European Commission (Sport Unit) recognises the demand for our services and maintains a good rapport with us.
  • As a result of the work undertaken so far, a latent group of organisations across many European countries has become active and now needs support to enable it to achieve its individual and collective goals.
